AIANTA Launches Fourth Annual Tourism Sentiment Survey
The survey will measure Indian Country’s confidence in the growth of the visitor industry for the coming year.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO (March 15, 2022) – The American Indian Alaska Native Tourism Association (AIANTA) has launched its fourth “State of Indian Country Tourism ” survey.
The Albuquerque-based national non-profit organization, which serves as the voice and resource for tribes and tribal organizations engaged in cultural heritage tourism, will use the survey results to determine Indigenous and Native communities’ confidence in the growth of the visitor industry for the coming year.
“Although the tourism industry was severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, there are signs that the visitor industry is on the verge of recovery,” said Sherry L. Rupert, CEO of AIANTA. “This survey will help us collect a comprehensive picture of how Indian Country is feeling about tourism for 2022 and beyond.”
Survey topics range from top challenges facing Native tourism businesses to future tourism performance expectations, but also include pandemic recovery indicators.
The survey is being distributed to AIANTA’s entire tribal tourism database, but it is open to all Native-owned tourism and hospitality businesses. Interested parties may complete the State of Indian Country Tourism survey by visiting https://arcg.is/0W4uuX.
At the conclusion of the survey period, a 2022 State of Indian Country Tourism report will be compiled and distributed. AIANTA tracks and measures the economic impact of Native tourism on its Tourism Research page.
The survey will remain open until April 15, 2022.
