About Membership
Our Mission:
AIANTA’s mission is to define, introduce, grow and sustain American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian Tourism that honors traditions and values.
Our Purpose:
To help tribes build their futures while sustaining and strengthening their cultural legacies, AIANTA provides technical assistance, builds partnerships and programs, and advocates for Indian Country tourism at state and national levels.
Through AIANTA membership, tribes, members of the tourism industry, federal, state and local governments, colleges and universities and others form a resource network and are able to share experiences and support one another. AIANTA members are well-informed and play a key role in supporting sustainable and authentic tribal tourism that benefits not only member tribes, but all tribes. With your help, we’ll continue to make sure that the right national decision makers hear your voice—and all our voices—so our people can thrive and grow.
All memberships are due July 1 and end June 30 of each year.
Members who join after July 1 will have their second year pro-rated.

TribalTribal governments may enact a resolution of support, authorizing membership. Upon payment of dues, each Tribe shall designate five (5) individuals as representatives for membership purposes. Each representative shall be entitled to cast one (1) vote, for a total of five votes per Tribe. |

AMERICAN INDIANS AND ROUTE 66
More than half of Historic U.S. Route 66 lies in Indian Country, roughly 1,372 miles. AIANTA, in collaboration with the National Park Service Route 66 Corridor Preservation Program and Cherokee travel writer Lisa Hicks Snell, has published a tour guide of Route 66, bringing American Indian voices and a new perspective to this iconic highway.
